Quality Assurance for the Vascular Laboratory: Who, What, Why, and How

Through the years noninvasive laboratory studies have been given a growing role in the management of patients with vascular disease, thus increasing the importance of high diagnostic accuracy. Quality assurance pro grams play a critical role in achieving and maintaining excellence. Different types of studies require varying approaches and reference standards. Each test ing facility needs to have an ongoing validation program in place and to involve all of the staff in the review and critique that lead to improved quality.
