Aneurysms of the subclavian artery are extremely rare but arise from multiple etiologies, the most common being atherosclerosis. Subclavian artery aneurysms can present with symptoms of rupture, thrombosis, distal embolization, and local compression. The objective of this paper is to review the incidence, etiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and features of subclavian artery aneurysms. The English language literature is reviewed.

Key Words: Subclavian artery aneurysm • aberrant subclavian artery aneurysm
